At The Pedal Factory, learning is central to our mission. We believe learning is best accomplished by doing. Sharing knowledge and skills is the best way to empower individuals and move our community forward. Check out the many opportunities for individual and collaborative learning offered through The Pedal Factory.
OPEN SHOP: Our workshop space is open to the public for the purpose of learning bicycle maintenance and repair. We have the tools, work stands, resources, and knowledge to help you fix your broken bike, maintain your ride, build up a project bike, or just learn something new. Already got skills? Simply use the space to do your thing. Open shop is just that - a chance for anyone to see what The Pedal Factory is all about. Use of tools and space is free, however there is a charge for some used and all new parts. Used parts may be paid for through volunteer service.
OPEN SHOP HOURS: Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays 12-6 PM, Saturdays are scheduled as we have available staff and volunteers with hours from 12-5 PM. Check our social media and news/blog page for Saturday announcements. Open shop is also a time to purchase refurbished bikes, parts, volunteer, donate or just check things out.
Walk ins are welcome and work stands will be on a first come, first served basis. An appt. will reserve a stand for you, and can be made via email, text or phone.
CLASSES: Check news and updates regularly as we do offer group learning opportunities throughout the year. Interested in a specific topic, like truing/building wheels, regular bike maintenance or changing flats? Let us know!
VIDEOS/ONLINE LEARNING: We're building an online library of tutorials specific to the shop. Browse through to learn more about bike repairs and general knowledge of the shop and our operations.
